Geoffrey Blake | Vice President

Geoff was born in New York and was baptized at Saint Patrick’s…where he also attended elementary school. His family later moved to the Chicago area (Glenview, IL). He attended both high school and college while living in the mid-west. After college Geoff served in the US Navy, before joining Litton Industries where he worked closely with McDonnell Aircraft on the F-4 Phantom in Saint Louis. In 1974 he was transferred to southern California, where he met his wife Suzette in Newport Beach

Geoff has been a parishioner of Saint Edward the Confessor in Dana Point since the late 70’s. He and his wife of 34 years have been on the Parish Council, sang in the Choir, and currently serve as extraordinary ministers for Saturday evening Vigil Mass. Since 1998, Geoff and Suzette have been an active part of Small Faith Communities. They are also members of Apostleship of Prayer. Both Geoff and Suzette were invited to experience Cursillo in the late 80’s and found that to be a spiritual bonfire for them both. He joined CMF at St Kilian’s in Mission Viejo in 1992, and eventually headed up that group. He now attends monthly meetings at Our Lady of Fatima, and frequently visits other chapters such as Corpus Christi, St Vincent de Paul, Our Lady of Refuge, St Timothy’s, and others. He is a product of 17 years of Catholic formal education, provided by the sisters: Dominicans, BVM, Sisters of St Joseph; the brothers: Christian Bros and Holy Cross Brothers; and priests: Dominicans, Holy Cross, and Diocesan priests at Loras College.

Recently he has enjoyed participating in the Laymen’s Version of the spiritual exercises of St Ignatious; which is a six-month study guided by an individual well versed in the Ignation Exercises. The group meets weekly for three hours per night – and provides wonderful insight into the program that has been helping to shape the spiritual lives of Jesuits for hundreds of years.

The priests of Miles Christi, who now have an office in San Diego, have been conducting weekend Retreats which provide a short two-day “refresher” featuring the spiritual exercises. Last summer Geoff attended that program which was offered at Prince of Peace Abbey in Oceanside.

He is the EHS Director for a small aerospace company in Orange County, and sits on boards of associations and regulatory agencies. Geoff additionally serves as Event Coordinator for CMF.
