Donald was born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley of Southern California. His parents were devout Pentecostal Protestants. He began his formal academic studies in Mathematics. In 1989 he received the ZDaF certificate from the Goethe Institute in Frankfurt Germany. In 1990 he received a BA in Religion from UC Riverside and in 1991 received an MA in New Testament Studies from Claremont Graduate School. In 1992 he began PhD studies in Ancient Near Eastern Language at UCLA. Three years later he transitioned into the financial services industry becoming a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley in 1996.
In 2005, he opened his own advisory firm under the name DFC Wealth Management LLC in Century City. In 2006 he began to explore the Catholic Church and in 2009 was baptized into the Church of the Good Shepherd in Beverly Hills during Easter Vigil.
Later Donald would start an official CMF Chapter in his parish where he serves as the Group Leader. In March 2017 he became a member of the CMF Board of Directors.
